From the early days of Clonageera we have been very proud to see that dogs sired or bred by Clonageera Irish Setters have also achieved great things when loved and shown by other exhibitors. Sh.Ch. Jason of Andana of Clonageera with Clonageera Tamoretta began what was going to be a repeated achievement by producing three show Champions in one litter, Sh.Chs. Clonageera Tyrone, Rebecca and Tarka

He also sired seven other Show Champions, including Sh Ch Clonageera Megan with the Clonageera foundation bitch, Sh.Ch. Bella Rosa of Andana. Megan was the mother of the very influential Sh.Ch. Clonageera Genesis and Ch Clonageera Summer Magic, the first English import to become an Australian and New Zealand Show Champion.

Genesis followed his grandfather in producing six Show Champions himself, including the beautiful Best in Show winner at Crufts 1995, Sh.Ch. Starchelle Chicago Bear.

The following year at Crufts 1996, the Irish Setter Best of Breed was another Genesis son, Sh.Ch. Thendara OKay Yaa who is so significant in the bloodlines of Jeremy and Dee Milligan Bott’s Thendara kennel.

Also in 1995, Sh Ch Clonageera Stella produced the first of her litters by Chicago Bear that have been so important in breed history. As well as the five Show Champions among their offspring together, there have been over 100 worldwide Show Champions descended from their partnership during the following 21 years.

Their sister, the beautiful Annie, Sh.Ch. & Irish Sh Ch Clonageera Klassique Gwendariff was the foundation bitch of Diane Ritchie’s Gwendariff line, so is in the pedigrees of her successful Irish Setters. Her son Sh Ch Gwendariff Dom Perignon and daughter Sh Ch Gwendariff Pop my Cork won many, many CCs.

One of those Stella/Chicago Bear sons, Clonageera Kieren, sired Sh Ch. Brabrook True Blade. His litter sister, Brabrook Waikiki Roamancer is the grandmother of our beautiful SH CH Neathamill Isabella of Clonageera. Kieren’s son, Am CH Pure Geniuse by Clonageera, Jason, was the sire of another Show Champion for the Drinkwaters, Sh.Ch. Brabrook Red Rose before he left the UK.

To have multiple champions in one litter is a Once in a Lifetime experience for just a few select breeders, but this has happened several times through the Clonageera story, especially when the litter was sired by Jason. When mated with CH Roclyn Parfait, they produced a beautiful family for Sherry Oke, with two Grand AM Champions, Gr Ch Kinross Burberry Brit and Gr Ch Kinross Cinnabar and three Champions, AM Ch Kinross Shalimar, AM Ch Kinross British Sterling and AM Ch Kinross Faberge Clonageera. Sherry also bred two more Champions with Jason x AM Ch Roclyn Éclair.

Other litters with two Champions sired by Pure Geniuse include that with AM CH Thendia Promise Keeper, producing GR.CH. Thendia Kieran and AM/CAN CH Thendia Murphy Himself. From Jason x CAN CH Devonmist Wesenden of Kenerin came CAN CH Kenerin Heartstopper and AM CH Kenerin RockMyWorld Clonageera, bred by Laureen Strellioff. Jeanette Holmes bred the very successful AM GR CH Estrella Catch the Wind and her litter sister AM CH Estrella Autumn Wind

Back in California, a love match between Caelan, CH Kenerin RockMyWorld Clonageera and Laila, Ch Kinross Faberge Clonageera resulted in another successful litter that has resulted in four Champions in three countries. North of the border, Laureen Strellioff made up CAN CH Clonageera Tempranillo Kenerin, in California, brother and sister Clonageera Chianti by Kinross and Kinross Syrah Clonageera became US Champions and in the UK, Oliver, Sh Ch Clonageera Kinross love Barolo gained his third CC at Bath in 2016.

In total, Caelen has sired eleven international champions.

In England, his son, Sh Ch Clonageera Kinross love Barolo is carrying on his family’s successful ways by siring very promising youngsters in the UK and Europe, two of whom, Susie Snapshot by Thendara and Devacott Temptation to Clonageera have gained their Junior Warrants.

We were all delighted at Crufts 2016 to watch Melmara Georgia, the beautiful young daughter of AM CH Witchbrooke Cassini at Clonageera, be awarded best Irish Setter puppy and were even more pleased when she attained her Junior Warrant soon after. At Crufts 2017 our three youngsters will be joined by their two sisters Pheanna and Darcey in the show ring.
