Willow story

In August young Clonageera Willow left her family

and travelled with her breeder, Jean Lippett from Southwest England to Ontario Canada to start her new and exciting life there with Anne Perkins, Sheila Davidson and Gwynneth Mcclellan. A day and a half after arriving they were first in the ring at the Irish Setter Club of Canada Nationals, where Willow won her Baby Puppy classes in Sweeps and Breed and Best Puppy in Sweeps.

In her first week there she also visited a Field Trial event where she reacted calmly to gunshot and pheasant.

We are hoping she will be successful in a variety of skills in her new environment, her new owners have experience in many disciplines so she should have an exciting future.

Cherie was sired by AM CH Pure Geniuse by Clonageera (Jason) x SH CH Neathamill Isabella at Clonageera (Bella). Jason’s children have been very successful in the show ring, to date twenty-four of his sons and daughters have become Show Champions and Grand Champions worldwide. His offspring have had an excellent health record and are noted for their sweet temperament. Cherie’s nature is to please; she has never had a naughty moment and would be mortified if told off. She is calm and affectionate.

Her mother Bella has a quality of elegant beauty and loving playfulness, she runs daily with her two daughters playing chase and ambush, rolling and tumbling with them but making sure they know who’s in control.

Sh.Ch. Thendara Pot Noodle is the latest in a long line of beautiful Thendara Show Champions to win Best Irish Setter Dog and Best of Breed at Crufts, in both 2015 and 2016. His CC awards (21 to date) won him the accolade of Top Irish Setter 2016.

18/02/17 - Pat had a wonderful day at Ilfracombe & DCS show, she won the Irish Setter Graduate class and Best of Breed with Devacott Temptation to Clonageera JW (Frisco) under Maureen Elkins, and then went on to win the Gundog Group under Alastair Scott. Three weekends at shows in Exeter, 5 first places, two BOB's and a Gundog Group 1st for Clonageera.

News 2017

11/02/17 - We made our second journey to Exeter this month for the Plymouth Open Show, driving through a snowstorm this time. There was a good entry for judge Colin Wheeldon, 37 Irish Setters in all. Jon Lippett handled Ki, Clonageera Dreams n Visions, to win their class again for the second week running. Cherie stayed home, but her two sisters Patti, Clonageera Love is Real and Darcey, Clonageera Walk in the Sun, came first and second in their large Limit class. We had a tiny, letterbox shaped ring that was difficult to run the dogs in, but judge, dogs and competitors coped well despite that.

January and February are busy Dog Show months in South-West England, and at the end of January we took the Clonageera youngsters out to the Newton Abbot and South Devon Open Show. Though it’s not a large club, it drew a good entry of dogs, stretching their legs in readiness for Crufts.

Our Irish Setter Breed had 29 dogs entered across six classes. Oliver’s young son, Heathclare American Dollar came second in his Junior class, then Frisco was also second in Graduate. Kiwi, Clonageera Dreams n Visions, handled by Jon Lippett was next in the ring and won Post Graduate then Claire Prangle took a Jason son, Heathclare Old Glory, into the Open Dog class and came first. Finally, it was Open Bitch and Pat Rutherford handled Cherie, Clonageera Born to Run, to win the class, BOB and Gundog Group 3. Kiwi delighted us by being Reserve Best of Breed to her sister.
